Growing Practices
Small scale. High attention.
Fable & Fungi Co. is built around intentional growing—not industrial production.
From cultivation through harvest, every stage is carefully monitored, adjusted, and done by hand. Nothing is rushed—only grown with care and attention.
Small Batch Harvest
Grown in limited quantities, with close attention at every stage to ensure quality and consistency.
Controlled Growing
Indoor cultivation with carefully balanced conditions for clean, reliable harvests year-round.
Clean & Intentional
Thoughtful practices, simple inputs, and a low-waste approach—from cultivation to harvest.
Controlled Indoor Growing
Our mushrooms are grown indoors in a carefully maintained environment where humidity, temperature, fresh air exchange, and light cycles are carefully balanced.
This allows for clean, consistent mushrooms year-round—without relying on pesticides or unpredictable outdoor conditions.
Low-waste approach
We aim to use everything we grow.
Spent mushroom substrate is repurposed as a soil enhancer—returning nutrients back to the earth instead of going to waste. Many of our pantry products are also created with this same mindset, extending the value of each harvest.
Clean cultivation
We follow clean cultivation practices throughout the growing process, working with healthy cultures and carefully prepared materials in a controlled environment.
This supports strong, consistent growth from start to harvest.
Harvest to table
Because we grow locally, our mushrooms don’t travel far.
That means fresher product, better texture, and a longer shelf life once they reach your kitchen.
Thoughtful inputs
Our mushrooms are grown on plant-based substrates designed to support healthy development and full flavour.
We prioritize clean, simple inputs and avoid unnecessary additives wherever possible.
Always learning
Mushroom cultivation is both science and craft.
We are constantly refining our process—testing, observing, and improving with each grow cycle to produce the best possible product.
Why it matters
How something is grown shapes everything about it—flavour, texture, and overall quality.
We believe growing practices shouldn’t be hidden. They should be part of the story.
